The Smith Institute does not currently have any paid positions available. However, we are actively seeking passionate volunteers to help advance our mission of improving healthcare outcomes through research and advocacy.
We are looking for volunteers to fill the following roles. Multiple positions may be available for each.
Social Media Coordinator
Help amplify the voices of patients by reviewing publicly shared story highlights and overseeing their publication to our social media channels. You will curate content and manage posts across Instagram, X (Twitter), and Facebook to grow awareness and engagement.
- Review and select approved patient story excerpts for social sharing
- Draft and schedule posts with branded visuals across platforms
- Share news and updates about The Smith Institute
- Monitor engagement and respond to community interactions
- Coordinate with team members on messaging and campaigns
Healthcare News & Policy Researcher
Curate a collection of healthcare news articles and policy developments that are relevant to our community, sponsors, board members, and donors. Your research will help keep our stakeholders informed and support evidence-based advocacy.
- Monitor healthcare news sources and policy publications daily
- Select and summarize articles of interest to our community
- Organize content by topic and relevance for different audiences
- Contribute to newsletter content and website updates
- Track legislative and regulatory developments affecting patients
